Regular Season MVP 2025-26
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Thunder: +200
What to know: The reigning MVP is the favorite with the season underway. He received 71 first-place votes after a regular season in which his 32.7 points per game led the league in scoring. The Thunder are 10-1 to start the season, despite Jalen Williams missing all 11 games due to injury and Chet Holmgren missing four. Through those 11 games, SGA is averaging 33.2 points, 6.0 assists and 5.2 rebounds.
Nikola Jokić, Nuggets: +300
What to know: Jokić opened the offseason as the favorite at +200, then shifted to third and is now back in second. So far this season, the three-time MVP is … doing what he does. He’s putting up 25.2 points, 13 rebounds and 11.9 assists for the 7-2 Nuggets, who are leading the league in points per game (124.2), are second in point differential (13.2) and are third in field-goal percentage (50.7). In nine games, Jokic already has six triple-doubles.
Luka Dončić, Lakers: +400
What to know: The Lakers have begun the season without LeBron James (back), but they are still 7-3 through 10 games. A fit-looking Dončić has played in six of those games, and is averaging a league-best 37 points, alongside 10 rebounds and 9.5 assists. He’s basically a shorter Jokic.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bucks: +550
What to know: Milwaukee’s Antetokounmpo opened the offseason at +700. He didn’t receive any first- or second-place votes in last season’s voting but did rack up 88 third-place votes. This year, he has been arguably the most dominant player in the league early on, putting up 33.8 points, 12.3 rebounds and 6.2 assists for the 6-4 Bucks.
Victor Wembanyama, Spurs: +600
What to know: Is this the year that Wemby takes over? The Spurs started 4-0 and Wemby was unbelievable to begin the season, averaging 31 points on 60.8% shooting, along with 13.8 rebounds and 4.8 blocks in those four wins. He actually catapulted to second on the MVP oddsboard a week ago. However, he has since slowed down, with the Spurs going 3-2 in their last five, and Wemby is averaging just 17 points over their last four games.
